HANDASSIA© aimed in this project to create a modern distinguished building which can provide a child friendly , dynamic and creative learning environment. In the centre of 6th of October city (Suburban of Cairo) the client allocated a good land plot of around 26,000 sq meter to be not only a main educational space for the district, but the client also intended to create a cultural heart of the district which can interact with the community and participate in the events , faires and ceremonies of the entire city.
In order to design a project with such requirements, HANDASSIA designed the school building with a large open plaze in the centre which is considered as the heart of the school and is used for assembly and eventual ceremonies, this plaza is surrounded by administration , sports hall and multi-purpose hall buildings which are oriented directly to the main streets and can be easily operated for community events. The school buildings are oriented to the back side facing the sport fields and the main spine, all educational buildings are connected in sequence with an arcaded educational street which leads the student from a stage to the next one. There is also an arcaded passage surrounding the main plaza which connects all elements of the project in one holistic entity. A clock tower is also located in a point that connects the main outdoor gathering point directly to the grand plaza,
this tower works as a distinguished land mark for the project which carries the national flag, and also works as a public service for the district.
